Parent Teacher Association
Our HPAK PTA is run by parents and carers to make sure there are lots of ways our families can meet each other and support the happy, inclusive atmosphere at Harris Primary Academy Kenley. Social and fund raising events organised by our PTA help to provide those little extras to enhance our children's time at the Academy.
We encourage our pupils, including the school councillors, to support the work of the PTA. That way, they can contribute to wider aspects of academy life and develop their creative planning and organisational skills. Events are advertised in the termly newsletter, by flyers, our text service and on the PTA noticeboard located outside the office.
The PTA meet regularly to plan these events. There are small working groups who organise specific activities. The aim is for each class to have a PTA parent / carer representative.
If you are interested in becoming involved in anyway, please contact Sian Owen, parent and chair of our HPAK PTA, either via the main office or via email at hpak-pta@live.co.uk
We are grateful to the work of our PTA and all our parents and carers who support us and would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for such fantastic support.
Meet the PTA
Sian (Chair)
I’m Sian I have Kaleb in Year 5 and Nori in Year 3. I’ve been an active member of the PTA for a few years now and chair for 3. I just want the kids to have great experiences and opportunities that benefit them and the school. I won’t lie, I like the fun side of things! I want to create memories and make it enjoyable for the kids as well as us.
Laura (Communications)
Hi, I'm Laura! I'm mum to two children at HPAK, Harrison who is currently in year five and Everly who is in year one. I've been an active member of the PTA for a few years now and have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in all the events and activities that we've organised. I've lived in Kenley since my eldest started school and have love being part of the community and am looking forward to getting to know everyone better!
Mrs Rowland (Communications and Academy Representative)
Hi I’m Mrs Rowland. I am the Academy's PE teacher and both of my children attended HPAK. I have been on the PTA since my eldest was in Year 1 (he is now in Year 11!) and have been working at the school since 2016 so quite a long time. It’s been wonderful to be able to not only raise funds for school equipment and events that the children so much deserve but also to provide the children with fun, fab activities and celebrations that brings them and the community together.
Gasha (Treasurer)
Hi! I’m Gasha, mum of three boys currently in HPAK. Christiaan (Year 6), Benjamin (Year 4) and Alexander (Year 2). I’ve always wanted to take on a more active role in the PTA, and now that all my boys are in school full time, it has finally happened! I’m excited to give back to the school, help build the community and have loads of fun in the process.
Bwalya (Secretary)
Hello! I’m Bwalya, mum to Anaia in Year 4 and Zhanna in Year 2. I love organizing events and jumped at the chance to be part of the PTA. I think primary school is such an important and magical time for our children and I want to do my best to make sure they thoroughly enjoy their time at HPAK.
Amina (Core member)
I’m Amina, I am mum to my daughter in Year 1 and my son in Reception. I also have 2 year old twins, so it’s a full house! I run my own nursery so hopefully can bring some of my experience with fundraising and ideas, and give the children wonderful experiences.
Carolyne (Core member)
Hi! I'm Carolyne, mum to our daughter who is currently in Year 4 and our son who is in Year 1. I've been an active member of the PTA since our daughter was in the Nursery. It's been great being involved with fundraising activities and raising lots of money to enhance the children's experiences at school.
